Posting Summary:
The Department of Pathology at the University of Virginia is seeking a Medical Office Coordinator. This position is responsible for patient registration information, patient verification, and review of physician information. Responsibilities also include submitting requests for insurance payments and assisting the billing supervisor with department requests when necessary for solving billing issues.

Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 2 years of administrative experience with insurance. An Associate's Degree is preferred.

This is a restricted position and is contingent on the continuation of funding.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.

Ability to prepare outgoing correspondence.

Knowledge of billing for third party insurance carriers.

Ability to communicate both orally and written.

Excellent writing skills.

Knowledge of basic math skills.
