The University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a part-time, non-tenure track instructional faculty position in the Office of Medical Education to serve as a gross anatomy laboratory instructor. The chosen applicant will also participate in the preparation of anatomical specimens/pro-sections for laboratory instruction, practical exam setup and grading, and provide support to the operations of the laboratory facilities.
Minimum requirements include a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, DC) with a minimum of five years' teaching experience in human anatomy for medical students, including whole body, dissection-based human anatomy laboratory instruction. Applicants should have a commitment to excellence in teaching, good communication skills, and experience in computer-based teaching and learning.
Preference will be given to applicants with a record of outstanding teaching evaluations and/or a track record of teaching innovations and awards. Experience teaching in an integrated basic science medical school curriculum is also desired.
