Posting Summary:
The English Department at the University of Virginia invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure-track position in Academic and Professional Writing to begin Fall 2017. This position is a three-year renewable appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, General Faculty. We seek candidates with strong records as teachers of writing, with a Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric or terminal degree in a related field by the appointment start date.
The candidate appointed to this position will teach two sections of first-year writing per semester and participate in a growing Academic and Professional Writing Program housed within the English Department. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to our program by teaching lively developmental writing courses for underprepared students.
