Posting Summary:
The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia invites applicants to apply for the position of Research Associate. Duties include designing and caring out wet bench research using conditional mouse models, primary and established lung cancer cell lines. In addition to wet bench research applicants will aid in the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput ChIP-seq, and RNA-seq data. Selected candidates will meet weekly with the Principal Investigator to discuss experimental results, conduct literature searches, present results in weekly lab meetings and at conferences as well as in interdepartmental seminars.

The candidate must work independently and ethically, document all research data appropriately, assist graduate students in the lab, apply for independent funding where applicable, and publish data in qualified journals.

The completion of a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree in Biochemistry or a related field is required by the appointment start date. Experience with molecular biology techniques is required.
