Provide guidance and counseling to students in academic matters including the selection of courses, course prerequisites, etc.

The Education Abroad Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for managing a portfolio of The Division of Global Affairs' education abroad programs to support the mission and objectives of the Education Abroad Office. The Program Coordinator serves on a team of 9 international education professionals and is responsible for activities related to the Education Abroad Office's access mission and DGA's strategic goals for education abroad resulting in diverse program offerings of over 55 faculty-led programs, 5 institutional programs, 25 active exchange programs, a variety of international internships and directed studies abroad, as well as KSU's International Student teaching program. The Education Abroad Office sends over 900 students abroad annually.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience.

Desired Qualifiacations: The candidate should have first-hand experience participating in or leading an international program; crisis management experience; program planning and/or project management experience; experience working with students in a higher education setting; ability to handle multiple assignments for varied programs with strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and partner institutions from many different backgrounds. The following are preferred qualifications: Previous administrative experience in higher education; advising or teaching experience working with undergraduate and graduate students; some knowledge of KSU policies and procedures; fluency in a second language; previous experience working in an education abroad office; knowledge of intercultural learning pedagogy; experience with Terra Dotta software for education abroad (StudioAbroad). The ideal candidate should have experience with public speaking and professional writing including facilitating trainings/workshops, possess a high level of comfort engaging with faculty, staff, and students related to trainings, program orientations, consultative seminars, as well as providing professional documents for university constituents.

Demonstrated experience using organizational skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to employ conflict/resolution skills towards effective problem-solving.

Ability to operate a personal computer and MS Office 2010.

Ability to operate a photocopier.

Ability to compose professional letters and/or memoranda in English.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently when necessary.

Demonstrated skills in both written and oral communications.
