JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applicants are invited to apply for a Medical Physicist position in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Duke University Medical Center. This position is expected to provide all aspects of physics supports for an affiliated radiation therapy facility at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The facility has a Synergy treatment machine with full IGRTcapability (PV and CBCT). Pinnacle treatment planning and MOSAIQ information system are also available. Currently, the facility treats about 15-25 patients a day with state-of-the-art 3DCRT, IMRT, and IGRT technologies. T

he successful candidate for the Medical Physicist position will involve a full range of physics activities in the radiation oncology facility at the affiliated Hospital.

The position is also expected to be an integrated team player and to provide professional supports to the department manager, a full-time radiation oncologist, a full-time dosimetrist, and other supporting staff. Preference will be given to the individual who has extensive clinical experience in IMRT/IGRT using Elekta treatment unit, MOSAIQ information system, and Pinnacle treatment planning system. Preference will be given to individual who has PhD degree with extensive clinical and/or teaching/research experience. Experiences in effective implementation of modern treatment technologies, treatment procedures such as IMRT/IGRT/SBRT/SRS are highly desirable. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Work requires the background in medical physics normally acquired through a Master's degree in Medical Physics.

EXPERIENCE:
