The Translational Drug Development (TDD) Core and the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Florida seek a highly motivated postdoctoral associate to work in the Core. The TDD Core is designed to provide expertise in bioanalytical drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics and early animal toxicity and efficacy studies. The TDD Core conducts research in the multidisciplinary area of pharmacokinetics and metabolism (DMPK) to support the advancement of drug discovery and development. The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for in-vitro, ex-vivo and in-vivo models to support ADMET (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxacology) studies desired for IND filing. Applicants should be experienced in the handling of animals (rats and mice) and cell culture studies (hepatocytes, CACO2, MDCK, etc.) in a laboratory environment. Research focus will also include the blood brain barrier permeability and bidirectional efflux assays. Experience in LC-MS/MS, HPLC and pharmacokinetic modeling is highly desirable.It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be able to design, execute and interpret the in-vitro and in-vivo DMPK assays to support the drug discovery and development initative.
