The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with appointment to begin July 2018. Lafayette College is a small, private, undergraduate-only institution emphasizing superior education in engineering and the liberal arts. The College is located in eastern Pennsylvania, 70 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department has approximately 120 students across all four classes and outstanding resources for faculty research and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduates, and an ability to teach effectively at all levels of the curriculum.
  • An interest in laboratory-based teaching and experiential learning is a plus.
  • The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to establish a research program that can engage undergraduate students and that will result in published scholarly work in peer-reviewed venues.
  • Preference will be given to candidates whose research complements the current strengths of the department: energy and the environment, materials and interfaces, and biomolecular engineering.
  • Research areas with the potential for interdisciplinary connections are particularly encouraged.
  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field, and a B.S. in chemical engineering is preferred.
