Job Description

Currently hiring for an estimator/PM for a construction company. You will be responsible for estimating projects and scheduling, while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Primary Functions:
  • Estimating of project assigned
  • Purchasing materials
  • Subcontracts economically and expeditiously for projects assigned
  • Coordination of field and office activities on assigned projects, including job scheduling activities
  • Be a company liaison with owner
  • Architect and engineer
  • Providing prompt and quality interaction
  • Need to develop a customer base for repeat business

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction industry
  • Knowledge and background in the construction industry
  • Knowledge/experience in estimating construction jobs
  • Estimate the cost of materials, labor, equipment and of any subcontractor's work
  • Must have a high degree of integrity and honesty
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner
  • Must be able to carry out the duties described in the job description
  • Must have excellent time-management and decision-making skills
  • Able to travel at times to various jobs and sites in our area

Duties:
  • Estimating and managing the daily projects
  • Dealing with subcontractors
  • Coordination with office and field staff
  • Review conditions at the job site prior to bid to understand and evaluate site accessibility, surface and underground conditions and any condition that would effect construction methods and costs
  • Oversee construction project from start-to-finish
  • Adhere to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards
  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with progress schedule and adjust as necessary due to changes
  • Assist superintendent in resolving possible design/detail problems
  • Attend pre-construction/job meetings
  • Maintain adequate estimating files/plans
  • Prepare and execute change-orders
  • Request extensions of time as required by contract documents
  • Thorough knowledge of company procedures
