Posting Information: Leadership overview of the design phase of the University's projects. Monitor and review all design projects to ensure projects are being designed according to plans, specifications and code requirements; monitor and track projects' schedules and budgets to ensure timely completion of each component part; arrange for and review independent testing performed by outside laboratories; review and approve design concepts, approve, reject, negotiate and/or make recommendations concerning design alternatives and requests for variance to the University's design guidelines. Review schematic design, design development and construction drawings prepared by outside consultants for design concept, constructability, and maintainability according to the University Design Standards, SCO Requirements, Standard Industry Practices, and Code Compliance.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment and one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Licensed to practice architecture or landscape architecture by the North Carolina Board of Architecture or the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional degree/licensure in architecture or interior design with eight years experience in higher education typologies preferred. Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other graphic software.
