Position Status: Administrative Non-Exempt Positions

Basic Function:
Support the Student Development & Counseling staff in the delivery of services. Maintain an atmosphere of care, safety, confidentiality, and professional competence in dealing with students, their families, faculty, staff, and others who may contact the Center.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • -Greets visitors and callers. Makes appropriate appointment, counselor selection and/or referral. Communicates vital information to SDCC staff.
    -Provides information and/or referral to callers or visitors best served by other departments or off-campus agencies.
    -Manages the SDCC staff schedules electronically with Titanium.
    -Maintains confidential files, other files and the office in general.
    -Composes, edits, types correspondence, reports, memoranda, articles, forms, brochures, etc.
    -Deals appropriately with clinical emergency situations as directed by staff.
    -Provides support in creating and maintaining educational programming materials.
    -Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements

  • -High School degree with college experience preferred.
    -Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
    -Strong interpersonal communication skills to include sensitivity, listening, judgment, decision making and empathy.
    -The ability to recognize a person in distress and manage the situation appropriately.
    -Strong technical skills and creativity in regards to efficiency and effectiveness.
    -Ability to personally manage stress and the distress of others.
    -Must possess strong organizational skills.
    -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Hiring Range: $13.95-$15.00
