LECTURER, The Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (9869/I2917)
The Center for English Language and Orientation Programs at Boston University invites applications for four part-time lecturer positions beginning September 26, 2017. The position entails teaching intensive English to speakers of other languages courses. The position involves assessing students to determine progress in achieving course objectives and communicating this assessment to the students. Preparing final evaluations of student progress and academic performance is required by the program. This position also involves 30 minutes of office hour time every week for every five teaching hours.

A Master's degree in TESOL or a related field. Related fields include an MEd with a concentration in TESOL, or a Master’s in Applied Linguistics with a concentration in TESOL, or other language education degrees. In all cases, degrees must include significant course work in English language education for speakers of other languages. Appropriate course work includes linguistics, culture and society, educational foundations, second-language acquisition and pedagogy, second-language curriculum and assessment, and language teaching practicums
At least three years’ experience working in a university intensive English program similar to CELOP.
