Job Summary/Basic Function:
The University of North Texas Department of Sociology invites applications for two assistant professor positions. Each position is a 9-month appointment with a 2-2 course load, beginning September 1, 2018. AOS: Open, with preferences for candidates with expertise in gender or qualitative methods. AOC: Open. The successful candidate should have a strong record of scholarship and be supportive of the department's long-standing and/or emerging interests, and a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level. A Ph.D. in sociology is required, although highly qualified ABD candidates will be considered. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Applicants must submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a narrative describing scholarly research, and may submit evidence of teaching effectiveness.
