The University of Kentucky is seeking an HR Employment Manager to lead a team responsible for posting and processing all regular full-time staff and faculty positions. This is a high-volume, customer service intensive operation focused on filling 2,000-3,000 positions annually, which routinely deals with complex hiring related issues.

The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Leadership and performance management for a team of nine: Provide daily support to ensure all team members are accurately completing the procedures associated with the university's hiring process for staff and faculty positions. Manage workload distribution, prioritizing projects and process improvement efforts. Deliver guidance and direction to team regarding hiring and selection best practices and educating decision makers on hiring tools and resources. Coach, mentor, and collaborate on establishing goals with direct reports to encourage professional development as well as individual contribution to broader HR initiatives.

- Service development and promotion: Collaborate with team and HR Director to develop, promote, and facilitate effective services, training, tools, and resources needed by university hiring decision makers and hiring process coordinators to make the best possible quality hires for staff and faculty positions in the shortest amount of time possible. Ensure team members are effectively promoting services as they engage with hiring officials, making presentations to leadership groups, building relationships with key hiring officials, developing marketing materials, and coordinating strategic communications to promote services.

- Customer service and relationship management: Gather data and feedback from various customers within Employment, HR, and the university to assess effectiveness of services, tools, resources, and training, and make changes accordingly. Lead individuals and work groups in enhancing the customer's experience and assessing satisfaction regarding the hiring process. Work with high-need hiring units to ensure success in completing the hiring process. Provide and model exceptional customer service in each interaction with prospective new hires, hiring officials, HR colleagues, and other University employees. Maintain strong collaboration with hiring departments and related University departments, including the Office of Institutional Equity and Equal Opportunity, Legal Counsel, HR Compensation, and Nurse Recruitment.

- Resource management: Oversee all employment advertising and the UK employment brand efforts, and ensure the promotion of the university's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce. Monitor team's efforts to ensure time and energies are spent in the necessary areas. Review and react to volume measures, strategically planning to maximize team's effectiveness during high and low volume periods. Maintain strong knowledge of HR policy and procedure, Employment law, and professional Employment best practices to appropriately respond to direction from HR leadership.

Primarily days, with core hours from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend and/or evening hours may be required upon occasion and/or as workload demands.
