Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and training required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience working for a high-level executive. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can function with minimal supervision, is detail-oriented, reliable, and has the ability to work in a high-paced environment
This position requires excellent administrative, organizational, verbal and written communication, computer, and interpersonal skills in order to provide administrative support to the Dean. This position requires coordination of complex confidential administrative activities. This position must interface and serve as a liaison with the school and campus constituents, Dean's Advisory Board, and other partners.
The responsibilities of this position require independence of planning, decision-making, strong organizational skills and action. The person who holds this position is expected to utilize a considerable amount of independent initiative and judgment, exercising a high level of administrative problem solving and analytical ability.
Duties include managing complex calendars, facilitating communications, and providing administrative support for the Dean; facilitating travel, registration, and other purchases using P-card or other purchasing processes; and providing support for assigned committees and task groups. This position must maintain confidentiality regarding all written or oral interactions and information.
This position tracks, prioritizes, organizes and sees to completion, multiple ongoing projects in various stages of progress in such a way as to assist the Dean to organize and complete projects. This position will receive general guidance and is expected to collaborate with Dean's Office colleagues to develop and maintain procedures and support the responsibilities as outlined below.
Professional communications, workplace sensitivity, and workplace diplomacy are essential. The incumbent will demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships. The primary client for this position is the Dean; this position will, at times, provide support for other senior leaders.
