GWSB Graduate Programs is key to the success of the School of Business and is searching for a Senior Student Services Coordinator. This position supports the allocation and distribution of all of merit based aid awards based on academic excellence. This position reports to the Director, Master of Science Programs and indirectly reports to the Director, MBA Programs. This position does not have direct reports, but may supervise student workers.
The primary focus of this position is the coordination of a $7 million budget for merit based financial aid for the GWSB MBA and Specialized Masters programs. This includes all aspects of coordination from the intake of participants to the disposition of the awards. The Senior Student Services Coordinator must be comfortable and motivated in working with CRM systems and data management tools.
Key responsibilities include:
Primary contact for coordination of seven independent programs including the Office of Veteran Services, and the Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships.
Intake and review of applications for merit-based awards working in collaboration with admissions committees to determine eligibility and confirm offers to awardees.
Generates award letters to admitted students and posts awards to student accounts. Initiates adjustments to posted awards as needed.
Coordinates with the Directors of MBA Programs and Master of Science Programs to ensure that awarded students maintain satisfactory academic progress;
Maintains records of merit-based aid awards and student award decisions in Enrollment RX and the allocation spreadsheet shared between programs and offices
Projects future financial commitments and makes recommendations to the admissions committees.
Monitors the budget and reconciles accounts to ensure accurate tracking of posted awards. Processes refunds for prospective students who have been approved for a deposit refund.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in financial and merit-based aid awards is beneficial. Focus in finance or accounting is a plus. Experience in the higher education field is preferred.
The ideal candidate must work well in a collegiate setting, enjoy teamwork, and be able to take initiative with self-directed projects. Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines with high attention to detail are strongly desired.
Experience with CRM systems and data management tools applicable in a University setting (e.g., Banner, Datamarts, DegreeMAP, Enrollment RX/TargetX, Documentum/ECM, EAS, and self-service systems) is a plus.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team as well as independently to achieve each individual program's objectives. This individual will have the ability to make decisions efficiently, to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, and to facilitate conflict resolution.
