Job Summary

The part time instructor for the sterile processing program will be responsible for delivering hands on training that will be part of the curriculum involved in SPI 101 and 181. The instructor will also be responsible for onsite clinical evaluation of students during their clinical internship.
Duties will include
1. Maintenance of the Sterile processing Lab
2. Delivery of lessons plans involving instrument decontamination, cleaning and processing,
3. Set assembly training
4. Instruction in processing of scope equipment and powered surgical systems
5. Instrument wrapping, sterile container management training
6. Monitoring systems and quality control processes
7. Ordering lab supplies and monitoring stock levels
8. Delivery of skills examinations and evaluation of student progress
9. Management of Workbook assignments and checklists
10. Visiting and assessing students in their clinical internship setting
The position will require a minimum of 10 hours per week. Teaching in the lab will occur on afternoons from Tuesday through Friday from noon to 2:45. An hour of prep and cleanup will also be allotted on lab instruction days. The instructor will visit each student weekly in their internship setting from Mid-March through Mid-June.


Minimum Qualifications

• Three years of work experience in a sterile processing unit
• IAHCSSM Certification
• Experience with endoscopic equipment
• Some educational in servicing experience (preferred)

Afternoons from Tuesday through Friday from noon to 2:45
