Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina seeks inquiries for the position of Instructor. The position is 9-month, non-tenure track. It primarily involves teaching a full academic load (4 courses) for the Fall and Spring semesters. The courses are inclusive of two sections of Fashion Merchandising and two sections of Visual Merchandising. The Fashion Merchandising courses entail buying, selling, and promoting merchandising. The Visual Merchandising courses encompasses retailer's display and visual merchandising strategies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate in-person and on-line courses, and collaborate with on-campus stakeholders.

Required Education and Experience

Earned Master's Degree in Retailing, Fashion Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, or related field. Possess industry experience, as well as demonstrated evidence of excellent teaching at the university or college level. Combination of three (3) years work and academic experience. Proficiency in relevant fashion industry software.

Preferred Qualifications

Earned Master's Degree in Retailing, Fashion Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, or related field. Possess industry experience, as well as demonstrated evidence of excellent teaching at the university level. Combination of five (5) years work and academic experience.
