Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a dedicated Part-Time Professional Research Assistant who will act as our Research Coordinator to work with our team at the Denver Fragile X Clinic. The Denver Fragile X Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic for children and their families with Fragile X syndrome and related disorders. The teams include Dr. Nicole Tartaglia, as the director of the clinics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician, as well as a genetic counselor, speech therapist, occupational therapist, child psychologist, social worker, research associates, and undergraduate/graduate students. The Denver Fragile X Clinic leads collaborative Fragile X clinical research funded by the Centers for Disease Control and the National Fragile X Foundation, and we are looking for a coordinator to support this research.

Examples of Work Performed:
  • Coordination of study appointments;
  • Recruitment of patients / families through attendance in clinics, as well as mailings and community events;
  • Consenting families into research protocols, supporting families in completing research instruments;
  • Coordinating research blood draw, processing and shipping blood samples for Fragile X Biobank;
  • Data entry;
  • Tracking and logging enrollment, non-enrollment, follow-up visits, and all the forms/questionnaires included as part of the research protocol;
  • Supporting other administrative and family support activities of the Denver Fragile X Clinic;
  • Collaboration on submission of regulatory documents (IRB), grant progress reports.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this part-time position is $11,856 - $12,480 and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • BS or BA in biological science, nursing, psychology, or related field
  • 2 years' experience in the Pediatric Healthcare field
  • 1 year experience working with children and families with disabilities

Condition of Employment:
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare related degree.
  • Direct experience with Fragile X and Fragile X clinical research.
  • At least 2 years of experience working directly with children and families with disabilities.
  • Experience with RedCAP.
