The Department of Family Medicine has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Practice Innovation Assistant (Program Assistant I) position.

Job Summary:
This class describes the first level of program assistant where positions perform technical support and/or office management duties as described under the Description of Occupational Work section above. Work involves making decisions within established technical work processes related to a program or professional subject area and interpreting program specific guidelines to resolve problems, answer questions, and/or advise others on specific program issues or matters.

Position Emphasis:

This position will provide administrative support to the Practice Innovation team, including: coordinating and attending meetings with project investigators and staff; working with faculty to set agendas, develop processes, manage needed follow-up activities, and to ensure consistent administrative and financial support necessary to sustain the successful implementation of planned activities and emerging opportunities. The position will provide calendaring and travel support to various members of the Practice Innovation team, as well as managing the inboxes for the Practice Innovation and SPLIT projects. The position is responsible for compiling, updating and reporting data across necessary platforms, including maintaining contact lists and assisting with compilation of materials for various reports and meetings. Creates and distributes evaluations and surveys for the Practice Innovation team and monitors the websites for necessary quality and content updates. Participates in shared office duties with other administrative staff.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range minimum for this position has been established at $46,260 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of general clerical or administrative service experience, which includes (1) year of experience providing administrative support to faculty and staff within in a higher education and/or medical education environment.

Substitution: College, university or non-correspondence business school coursework may substitute on a year-for-year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Condition of Employment:

This position is grant-funded and funding is only guaranteed through July 2019. Efforts are underway to find long-term funding for the position; however, candidates should be aware that funding is currently only secured through July 2019.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing projects in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Website and/or graphic design experience.

  • Ability to be flexible in order to adapt to changing workloads and management schedules.
