The University of Toronto Faculty of Law invites applications from outstanding scholars for a tenure stream position in law at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate's field of study should complement the research and teaching specialties of the faculty, with particular expertise in the area of private law (contracts, property and/or torts). We encourage diverse and interdisciplinary approaches to law. The position will commence July 1, 2018.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have an established reputation in research and is expected to pursue innovative research at the highest international level. Candidates must provide strong evidence of excellence in research of an internationally competitive calibre, as demonstrated primarily by sustained contributions and publications in top-ranked internationally recognized and field relevant journals, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong letters of reference from referees of high standing. For those candidates invited for a campus visit, a presentation will be required that will demonstrate the candidate's excellence in teaching. The statement of teaching philosophy and teaching evaluations, as well as strong endorsements by referees of high international standing, will also be considered. Applicants with a doctoral degree are preferred.
