St. Michael's Hospital's Department of Medicine is seeking a qualified full-time academic medical oncologist. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. This funded AFP (Alternative Funding Plan) oncology position will support current gastrointestinal patient demands in addition to supporting the malignant brain tumor surgical program at St. Michael's Hospital. The candidate will have an academic position description of clinician investigator with expertise in GI (gastrointestinal) and CNS (central nervous system) malignancies and a proven academic record of clinical research within at least one of these areas. The expected start date of the position is in January 1, 2018, or shortly thereafter.

The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Medical Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Preferably, the successful candidate will also have or be working towards a graduate degree relevant to clinical research. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Hematology/Oncology at St. Michael's Hospital. The Division currently consists of 9 full time hematologists and oncologists, has an international reputation in clinical research, education and quality improvement, and a busy in- and out-patient service.
