The Department of Emergency Medicine has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Education Manager (Academic Services Manager) position.

Nature of Work:

Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.

Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of functional work units, including the development and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes and the supervision of professional and support staff.

Position Emphasis:

This Education Manager will work closely with the Education Director in order to manage day-to-day operations, as well as ensure the successful implementation of Emergency Department educational activities. This role will directly supervise one Education Coordinator (1FTE) and additional FTE may be added based Departmental needs. This Education Manager will be responsible for working closely and communicating with students, faculty and other coordinators. The individual in this position will need to be mission-driven and a strong advocate for the growth and development of opportunities within the Department.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is $50,156 - $65,705 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience managing strategic planning.
  • Experience coordinating efforts and operations of an education mission.
  • This position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience successfully implementing education programs.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a higher education and/or academic medical environment.
  • Experience working with various CU, CU Medicine, UCH and University policies, rules and regulations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
