Professional Research Assistant
A research technician position is available starting Fall 2017 for a technician in the Tucker Lab at the University of Colorado Medical School (UC Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus). This is an ideal position for a recent college graduate interested in grad school, who has some prior lab experience. The lab is interested in developing new technologies in optogenetics (controlling protein activities with light). The position includes general lab management duties (supervising undergraduate assistants, ordering, meeting basic lab needs) as well as work on research projects that include cloning and PCR, protein design, western blotting, microscopy, mammalian cell culture, and a variety of molecular and cell biology techniques

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Science background, lab experience, troubleshooting skills.
BS/BA in science field and related lab experience
The ideal candidate should have a biology background, be a strong scientific/critical thinker, have good organizational and communication skills, be able to troubleshoot experiments independently, and have good attention to detail. Good position for recent undergraduate interested in gaining research experience before going to graduate or med school.
