Job Summary/Basic Function
The Laboratory Coordinator I, under general supervision, supplies, maintains, and organizes laboratory equipment. Prepares materials and trains teaching assistants.
Provide support for the instructional and research science laboratories at Texas A&M University - Central Texas including, but not limited to, chemical and biological solution preparations, maintaining safety/hygiene standards, laboratory safety training, and ordering, inventory, storage, and maintenance of lab supplies/equipment.
Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience setting up labs for biology and chemistry
Experience in preparing chemical and biological solutions
Advanced technical and operational laboratory skills
Working knowledge, training, and experience in laboratory safety, hazardous waste management and chemical hygiene
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding
2+ years of experience
Some evenings, weekends if needed.
