Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), the leading academic research organization, is committed to developing and sharing knowledge that improves the care of patients around the world through innovative clinical research.The part-time Communication Specialist II, part of the Enterprise Communications team within DCRI's Communications department, will serve as a content generation specialist and project manager for employee-focused internal communication activities.

He/she will support the lead for internal communications and work closely with human resources, faculty, operations, and other employee groups to identify, create, and share content to engage and inform DCRI's employees. He/she will also work closely with others in the Communications department, including the graphic design, production, and digital groups, to create, produce,and launch print and digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create original content including news stories, feature stories,announcements,profiles, case studies, and summaries to address internal stakeholders across multiple channels(e.g. intranet, emails, social media, etc.)
• Participate in planning and coordinating select communication activities by identifying the proper channels to reach target audiences and developing messages that resonate with those target audiences.
• Work with DCRI Communications' shared service teams, including graphic design,digital, production, and events, to create and/or finalize employee-facing print and digital content.
• Contribute to internal editorial planning by recommending content ideas, target channels and audiences, and appropriate project timelines, and then implementing as appropriate.
• Assist in creating, maintaining, and auditing enterprise-level content on DCRI's intranet; providing counsel to web editors; and serving as a back up administrator.

Education:
Work requires a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, graphic design or related field.
Experience:
Two years of clinical trial communications experience.OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE"
