The Department of Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Redlands is seeking to fill a clinical professor position (10-month appointment) to begin in January 2018 (later start dates are possible). We are an ASHA-accredited program with a strong commitment to the academic and clinical preparation of graduate students in speech-language pathology and the academic preparation of undergraduate students in the speech, language, and hearing sciences.
Responsibilities include teaching courses in audiology and hearing science at the undergraduate level and advanced audiology/aural rehabilitation to speech-language pathology students at the graduate level. Also included are management and supervision of speech-language pathology graduate student practica in hearing assessment, such as hearing screenings and audiological evaluations of on-campus University clinic clients, employees, and members of the community, and other service to the department. Other teaching assignments may be arranged, depending on expertise and interest.
The University of Redlands seeks candidates who have experience working with students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Candidates who apply are asked to identify their strengths and experiences in assisting diverse student populations to accomplish curricular goals. The successful candidate will be expected to support the College of Arts and Science's new general education curriculum for undergraduate students.
The University is located sixty miles east of downtown Lost Angeles, in a town of 70,000. The campus is surrounded by orange groves and sits at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, one hour from the coast, and 45 minutes from Palm Springs.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral (AuD or PhD) or Masters degree in audiology, ASHA CCC-A, and eligibility for a state license in audiology are required. We welcome applicants with diverse areas of expertise, with preference given to those with a background that includes an emphasis in speech and language disorders secondary to hearing loss. Clinical experience in aural rehabilitation intervention and consultation is preferred. Experience in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is desirable, as is a background that includes supervising students who provide clinical services.
