Job Description Summary:
The Department of Anatomy and Regenerative Biology is home to some of the University’s leading educators and researchers. As a modern biomedical research department, faculty members direct NIH-funded projects, with a focus on molecular, cellular, developmental, and physiological aspects in the field of stem cell and regenerative biology.
The laboratory of Dr. Xiaoyan Zheng at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) is seeking a Post Doctoral Scientist who is interested in obtaining training in cancer biology. The Post Doctoral Scientist will be involved in a project(s) in understanding how altered signaling in tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment can influence tumor progression.
•Design and conduct experiments under the supervision of the PI
•Application of lab techniques such as tissue dissection , primary cell culture, qPCR, molecular cloning, immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, immunostaining, and confocal microscopy imaging.
• Maintain accurate records of research findings and analyzes results;
•Prepare research results for publications in reports, papers, journals, books and other media;
This position performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Requires a PhD in the field or in a related area.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D., or equivalent degree in biological or biomedical science.
• Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and/or genetic methodologies
• First author publications in well-regarded scientific journals.
