The Utah State Board of Regents invites nominations and applications for the position of President of The University of Utah, one of eight institutions within the Utah System of Higher Education.
The University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City on the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, is the flagship institution of higher learning in Utah. Founded in 1850, it serves 32,000 students from across the U.S. and the world. With over 72 undergraduate major subjects and more than 90 graduate major fields of study, including law and medicine, the University prepares students to excel, contribute, and compete in the global workplace. The President is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Regents and is responsible to the Board for overall administration of the University. Ideal candidates should have demonstrated success in a leadership role at a major, complex research institution; candidates should also have a proven record of scholarly achievement in higher education, appreciation for multiple disciplines, experience and success in fundraising, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and leadership qualities essential for the administration of a large, culturally diverse, and complex research institution.
