The Technical Support Specialist will be primarily responsible for managing the desktop and laptop infrastructure. Provides technical and end user support for all aspects of information technology including but not limited to smart classroom support, science labs, scientific equipment integration, desktop assistance, office productivity software support and installation, AV software support, hardware support including installation, setup and life cycle replacement procurement recommendations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of directly related experience. Demonstrated experience with hardware/software installations, and hardware troubleshooting and support. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities:
*Working knowledge of the following operating systems in the area of installation, configuration and operation: Windows and Mac OS X.
*Working knowledge of general computer applications.
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Domain.
*Working knowledge of large-scale computer deployments and mass imaging methods.
*Excellent customer service skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff with differing technical abilities.
*Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills.
*Must be highly motivated with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently on defined projects.
*Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and pay attention to details.
*Ability to work with and train individuals and small groups on use of technical equipment and applications.
