Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering faculty position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

Position Responsibilities:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position beginning August 2018. The ideal candidate will have an area of specialization in an emerging research area with a strong potential of attracting external funding. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, interdisciplinary and sustainable, externally-funded research program in his or her area of expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will teach face-to-face courses, online courses, and/or laboratories. Experience in teaching Manufacturing Engineering, Senior Design, Thermal Laboratory, and/or MATLAB courses is desirable. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate an interest in mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students. Responsibilities will include teaching, scholarship, and service.

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

Candidates must have earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields, or the foreign equivalent by the time of appointment. A minimum of three years of industrial experience or equivalent is required. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is desirable.

The Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology offers undergraduate degrees in Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Systems Engineering and master's degrees in Civil, Systems, and Mechanical Engineering. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is the largest department in the College and awards an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
