Summary of Position:

The Employer Development Coordinator works accordingly across the following areas:
Employer Retention: Coordinates and manages a wide range of programs and services to retain and enhance professional relationships with existing employer partners- local, regional, national and international, in addition to, Career Center responses to new or expanding employer relationships. Independently interprets policies and procedures within delegated authority when responding to employer/student/faculty/parent/public questions and requests. Analyzes and synthesizes relevant policies and legislation, and applies them consistently across a variety of situations. Seeks out current information about campus and UNC-system relevant policies and procedures, state and federal laws and legislation related to departmental decisions about students’ and alumni’s careers and/or employment.
Employer Development: Coordinates and manages a wide range of employer development efforts in the local area, including outreach to new employers, employers expanding in the Wilmington area, and local employers with whom we have existing relationships. These efforts include large, mid-size, small, entrepreneurial and not-for-profit organizations.
Data Collection & Analysis: Identifies needed data, collects or generates data, and develops analytical reports. Data sets include Fortune 500 organizations, Employer Advisory Board members, Soaring Partners organizations, employers who recruit on campus and those who post in SeaWork, employers by geographic location and career sector, collegiate recruiting trends, and our recent graduates (First Destination Surveys).
Outreach: Provides learning opportunities for Career Center staff and others to insure awareness of developments in organizational or legal issues. Engagement with local networking groups such as the Wilmington Chamber, industry and other professional organizations, as well as human resources, talent acquisition and recruiting groups.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
Substantial work experience in a professional environment including significant interactions with other professionals
Strong oral and written communications skills
Relationship building skills
Ability to communicate clearly and impactful in presentations
Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite applications (ex. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
Analytical skills using spreadsheet formulas, pivot tables, etc. to report data in timely and effective manner

Preferred Qualifications:
Solid experience across multiple work sectors
Exceptional oral and written communications skills
Ability to establish and maintain meaningful relationships one-on-one and in groups

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The UNCW Career Center is a comprehensive career counseling and resource center dedicated to empowering students and alumni as active participants in their own career development. This includes coordination and management of a wide range of programs and services to retain and enhance professional relationships with existing employer partners- local, regional, national and international. Additionally, the Career Center responds to new or expanding employer relationships generated by the Associate Director for Employer Development and further provides career and employment assistance for currently enrolled students and alumni through individual appointments, workshops, career events, programs, services and resources. Constituents include students, alumni, employers, faculty & staff, parents and the general public.
