The Student Services Specialist/Coordinator fulfills a key position in the management of the Student Faculty Center (SFC) Conference Center and special event space in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) on Temple University's Health Sciences Center (HSC) campus. Major areas supervised include: Managing reservations and billing for multiple locations, audio visual and information technology, and event staff hiring, training, evaluation and scheduling. The position indirectly supervises 7-10 student workers. The Student Services Specialist/Coordinator works in collaboration and partnership with housekeeping, facilities management, and food service, as well as a variety of university departments including computer services, HR, and the controller's office. Critical skills needed include event planning, knowledge of A/V systems and equipment and IT systems, facility management, staff training and development, budget management, and excellent time and project management. As a member of the Student Center Operations team, this position will also assist in the development and implementation of departmental events. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and two year's experience in student center operations, event management, or the student affairs field. Must have experience in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment and computers/smart room technology. Required Skills and Abilities:

*Must possess strong leadership, supervisory and managerial skills.
*Ability to work as part of a team.
*Must have a clear understanding of program development and marketing concepts relative to development and operation of conference/event services.
*Ability to work some nights and weekends for events and travel between multiple buildings.

*Master's degree.
*Understanding of accounting systems and event management software.
