Summary of Position:
The University of North Carolina Wilmington Department of English invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant Professor of English, to begin fall 2018.
We seek a specialist in Rhetoric/Composition, ESL/Composition, or Applied Linguistics, with broad teaching interests and are especially interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following additional areas: TESOL, translingualism, or sociolinguistics. The primary teaching responsibilities of this positon are undergraduate linguistics courses, which are required for all English majors, but will also include undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in rhetoric and writing in a range of genres and topics depending on the candidate’s expertise. Thus, we encourage applicants from a wide array of fields. The typical teaching load for research-active faculty is three courses per semester.

Minimum Requirements:
Requirements: PhD, or equivalent degree, in Rhetoric/Composition, ESL/Composition, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field, by August, 2018; demonstration of successful college/university teaching; and clear evidence of scholarly potential.
