Job Summary/Basic Function: The College of Arts and Sciences seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time non-tenure track Lecturer position beginning in Spring 2018. The appointment is for a Lecturer in Communication who will oversee an undergraduate practicum in radio/television on-site within the business studio setting within KWEX/Ch 41 Univision in San Antonio, Texas. Teaching of upper-division undergraduate courses in Journalism is expected. The College seeks excellence in innovative project-based journalism projects, including a student newscast, radio projects and instruction in social media. The regular teaching load is 3/3.

We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.

Necessary Qualifications: A Master's degree in Communication or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Communication
Necessary Qualifications: A minimum of two years college or university teaching experience.
A minimum of two years college or university Student Media Advising experience in newscast/broadcast production.
Preferred Qualifications: Broad training in Communications and experience teaching all levels of an undergraduate Communications curriculum.
Experience with contemporary instructional technologies such as learning management systems and e-portfolios.
