Advertised Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide comprehensive medical care for patients seeking services through the Primary Care Department. The Primary Care Department is part of an integrated and comprehensive health care center that is accredited as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. The provider will practice as part of a care team model and have ample resources to assist with care including physicians, nurses, registered dietitians, counseling, social workers, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals. The provider will assess, obtain diagnostic testing and provide diagnosis, treatment and management of injuries, illness and disease. Determines a plan of care and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and all members of the health care team. Writes orders for fluids, medications, treatments and evaluates patient's response to that treatment. The provider will also provide education and implement prevention strategies to assist in the patients overall health and well-being. Incumbent will participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the health center. The provider will document patients' medical histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes within an electronic health record. Medical staff is PEER reviewed bi-annually as part of the credentialing and privileging process. Position is considered essential personnel.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree from accredited school of nursing and 3 years experience. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN, FNP) licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Must maintain clinical privileges as a condition of employment.
