Required Qualifications: PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from APA-accredited program. Experience in behavioral treatment modalities and cognitive psychotherapy in child adolescent outpatient psychiatry program and working with child and adolescent patients with autism spectrum disorders. New York State license of eligibility, Full time availability.


Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in group therapy with children and adolescents. Experience performing neuropsychological evaluations, including ADOS and ADI-R. Post-doctoral fellowship in Child Psychology. Track record of research and teaching/supervision experience.



Responsibilities & Requirements: Stony Brook University is undergoing tremendous growth under a new President, Dean and Chair of Psychiatry. In addition, our outpatient psychiatry program is expanding to meet the growing need for behavioral health care in the community. We are looking for individuals who welcome the challenge and satisfaction of working with a growing team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, social workers, board certified behavioral analysts, mental health counselors, educators, and researchers who are all motivated to enhance the range of services provided to adults, children and families.

The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry will serve as a Clinical Psychologist in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Department of Stony Brook University Hospital. The outpatient clinic is located in the newly renovated Putnam Hall on the South Campus of Stony Brook University. The outpatient program includes a team of ten attending staff and twelve residents/fellows who provide medication management and therapy services to patients with a wide-range of diagnoses in the pediatric population, including patient in the autism spectrum disorder clinic and specialty pediatric clinics. Responsibilities include direct patient care, including diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, and teaching sand supervision of medical students, residents and fellows. Shifts totaling 40 hours per week. There are also opportunities for clinical research.



Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
