The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy at Florida State University invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching position in the field of Interdisciplinary Social Science (ISS). This is a unique position designed to integrate disciplinary education, research and related activities within the College.
The successful applicant will have a strong interdisciplinary orientation grounded in Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Urban and Regional Planning or Public Administration. He or she will work with faculty in several disciplines to create and teach courses for majors in Interdisciplinary Social Science that demonstrate how insights from multiple disciplines bring value to the analysis of public policy issues and that emphasize evidence based decision making.
Additional responsibilities will include mentoring students, engaging ISS majors in undergraduate research and policy seminars, internship opportunities and similar activities. The teaching load is four courses per semester.


PhD in one of the disciplines of social science and have interdisciplinary teaching and research experience.


Demonstrated commitment to and success in teaching undergraduates, as well as experience with contemporary instructional technology and on-line teaching applications.
