Position Summary:
Design, develop and deliver excellent learning experience for graduate students to assist their pursuit of professional skills and fulfillment of their career aspirations. Contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practices in professions relevant to the mission of the Institute. Collaborate and serve to achieve academic excellence in the business of the Institute.
General Responsibilities:
Engage in curriculum development and delivery of translation courses from Spanish to English. Be available on campus to meet with student and colleagues during the academic year. Maintain professional currency in field of expertise. Participate in student advising and mentoring. Attend faculty meetings. Participate in events and activities that are essential to the Institute.
MA required; PhD desirable
Formal training in translation required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Professional experience in Spanish>English translation in varied domains and contexts.
Experience in community interpretation markets, such as medical and legal desirable
Experience teaching translation.
Experience working with learners who are working A>B and B>A.
Experience with post-editing and revision is highly recommend.
