Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Research Development, the Senior Grants Administrator provides pre- and post-award financial and administrative support in the College of Arts, Media and Design. Working as part of a sponsored research administrative team in the Dean's Office, the Senior Grants Administrator will assist faculty in budget preparation, proposal development and proposal submission, and will perform account review and reconciliation, no-cost extension requests, and grant close-out analysis for existing external funding. This role will also serve as a liaison between each Principal Investigator (PI) and Northeastern's central grant administration office.


Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Five years of related experience, particularly in higher education, is a major plus. Experience managing grants, including grant preparation, reconciliation and reporting is required. Experience with foundation and federal grants is desired. Knowledge of academic grant operations is desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, interest in financial management, and ability to prioritize and multi-task are required. Experience with accounting or budgeting is preferred. Must be able to work independently.

Given the high volume of interaction with faculty, candidate should have demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, a strong customer service orientation, and experience maintaining confidential materials.
