CHIEF OF STAFF
The University of Massachusetts seeks applications for a Chief of Staff, reporting to the Chancellor and serving as a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet. The Chief of Staff provides advisory and operational support to the Chancellor and supports the Chancellor in leading an effective senior management team and advancing key initiatives. The Chief of Staff will provide coordination and will be a liaison with members of the Chancellor’s Cabinet and Chancellor’s Council, and others, on matters of interest to the Chancellor. The Chief of Staff performs the work involved based on a close working relationship with the Chancellor and is expected to carry out major responsibilities under the Chancellor’s purview, communicate effectively, and use sound judgement in developing recommendations that involve divergent and sometimes contradictory demands.
