JOB PURPOSE: ADAPT (Alumni and Development Applications Platform Transition) is a multi-year program that will migrate Stanford's 20-year old PostGrads database and all its associated systems and processes (e.g., gift-processing, web presence, constituent management) to a Salesforce platform or inter-related systems. This project paves the way for the Office of Development (OOD), Stanford Alumni Association (SAA), and their campus partners to better serve, steward, and digitally engage the university's donors and alumni. The ADAPT Change Management Project Manager (the Change Manager) is a fixed-term position that manages the business transformation/change management workstream. The ADAPT workstreams that the Change Team supports include: (1) the Salesforce CRM migration; (2) gift processing; (3) stewardship; (4) event management; (5) volunteer management; (6) web and digital properties; and (7) business intelligence tools and reporting.. ADAPT will involve over 700 staff members across 29 departments in SAA, OOD, Alumni Relations, and other key campus units, as well as thousands of external users (alumni, donors and families). This complex multi-year endeavor requires significant effort and strong coordination and collaboration, and will affect work processes, job roles, organizational design and select policies. In addition to the software transformation, one key outcome of the ADAPT program is a common mindset for continuing to improve systems and processes among OOD and SAA colleagues.

Reporting to the ADAPT Program Manager, and partnering with many university staff members, vendors, and an experienced Change Management Consultant, the Change Manager will execute the ADAPT Change Strategy and manage the ADAPT work related to organizational design. The Change Manager oversees the ADAPT change team which includes members who focus on training, communication and process improvement and are matrixed to the ADAPT program. The Change Manager monitors and modifies the ADAPT Change Strategy in response to changes in the overall ADAPT Program while managing timelines and budgets, in alignment with the ADAPT governance structure. The Change Manager partners with other project teams to identify and track key performance indicators and success factors for projects. The position is expected to continue until August 31, 2020.


CORE DUTIES*:
  • Develop and help execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope and stakeholders; orchestrate and lead change management methodologies underlying project success.
  • Perform the full range of project management cycle with respect to the ADAPT Business Transformation workstream: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, assessing and mitigating risks, and closing..
  • Track progress of the change strategy for each project within the ADAPT program and adhere to standards for reporting on the deliverables of each change management project within timelines and budgets.
  • Direct development of an action plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
  • Oversee and collaborate with the three key areas of communication, training, and process improvement to ensure effective internal communication, increased employee engagement and adoption, and a culture of continual improvement.
  • Partner with experienced consultant on change management and organizational design.
  • Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus. * - Other duties may also be assigned

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. Experience in management of similar projects including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting.

    None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Frequently sit, perform desk based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • May be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, be exposed to high voltage electricity, radiation or electromagnetic fields, lasers, noise > 80dB TWA, allergens/biohazards/chemicals /asbestos, or heavy metals or work on roofs at heights greater than 10 ft.
