Recruit new students to Dalton State in accordance with the mission, goals, and policies of the College.

Represent Dalton State both on- and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, including travel to distant sites throughout Georgia and Southeast Tennessee.

Counsel prospective applicants on the admission process and opportunities at Dalton State. One-on-one admissions counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position. Admissions counseling takes places primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls and emails.

Coordinate and contribute to the success of various student visitation programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to Dalton State. The visitation programs include, but are not limited to, annual Open House, weekly Campus Tours, and a variety of high school and middle school campus visits.

Contribute to the success of the overall Admissions/Enrollment Services customer service experience by providing back-up support during peak times. Support could include answering of telephones, speaking one-on-one to students, and providing general information about Dalton State.

Bachelors degree with at least one year experience in admission recruiting or customer service required.

This position requires the ability to travel throughout the state of Georgia and Southeast Tennessee and to load and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment, some evening and weekend hours are required, especially during the travel season. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to represent Dalton State in a positive manner to diverse populations.

Experience coordinating programs and customer service background along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is preferred.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds in order to load and transport, admissions materials, displays, and other equipment.

Screening of applications will begin October 13, 2017. Serious candidates should have all materials submitted by that date; however, applications will be accepted until position is filled.
