Job Summary

The position is responsible for providing academic English instruction and administrative support for international students in the IEC program. This is an annual (52 week) position with a workload of 30 hours per week, which includes teaching and non-teaching functions and on-going administrative responsibilities in program development and implementation.

1. Teach Adult ESOL, ESOL Literacy or Civics ESOL classes.
2. Abide by program policies and procedures.
3. Participate in training sessions prior to the class start date.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis.
2. A bachelor's degree in a related field.
3. Experience teaching ESL for a minimum of two years.
4. Experience working with a diverse student population.
5. Training in teaching ESL.
6. Proven experience in delivery of high quality instruction to limited literacy and language populations.

Preferred Qualifications

1. A Master's Degree in COTESOL or Education with coursework in ESL Methodology and/or Second Language Acquisition.
2. Completion of a COTESOL certificate program.
3. Teaching experience in Adult or Vocational ESL.
