Job Summary

The Loveland Downtown District is looking to offer exciting real-world learning opportunities and to assist with downtown development. As an intern, you will learn how to apply the collection and interpretation of data in a real world environment where the information will be used to inform the development of effective strategies; develop interpersonal professional skills; and hone survey and database development skills.

The Loveland Downtown District advocates for sustainable development for downtown residents and businesses, through awareness and advocacy, economic development, beautification, and public improvement projects. The Downtown District is at the heart of revitalization making Downtown Loveland a vibrant community to live, work and play.

Intern will assist staff in designing and populating an up-dateable inventory of downtown real estate, businesses, employees, and residents, as well as the survey tools and processes needed to keep the database up to date. Intern will also initiate data collection through direct outreach to downtown property and business owners, and conduct research on best practices in downtown business development and retention and identify implementation strategies for the Loveland Downtown District. Represents the Loveland Downtown district at meetings, public hearings and events as instructed by supervisor. Other supportive development duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicant should have an interest in planning and economic development, business administration, or information management. Experience with database software (MS Access and Excel) and data collection, and good customer service rapport for face-to-face interactions with downtown stakeholders. Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) are required. The Intern will also assist in limited general and daily operations of the organization.

Average 10-15 hours per week
