Summary of Position:
The Department of English at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in professional and technical writing, beginning August 2018. PTW faculty teach undergraduate courses in our department’s professional writing program and graduate courses in the master’s program and in our new post-baccalaureate certificate in science and medical writing.

Minimum Requirements:
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in English, professional and technical writing, or a closely related field as well as a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research.

Preferred Qualifications:
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and demonstrated research related to health and medical rhetorics, rhetorics of science, scientific writing, and/or science, technology, and society (STS). The strongest candidates will have experience teaching with technologies and be eager to engage in research as well as contribute to departmental and university service.
