Minimum $85,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Degree preferred from one of the following areas: computer science, information science, management information systems, business, or related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

-Experience managing a professional application development team, preferably in higher education or medical school environment. 3+ years required. 5+ years preferred.
-Supervisory experience required.
-Demonstrated ability to work as team with diverse customers to identify requirements, deliver solid and sustainable technical solutions requiring strong problem solving skills.
-Demonstrated experience working within a widely-used programming language required. PHP experience is preferred, though experience with other languages such as Ruby, Java or Javascript will be considered.
-Demonstrated experience working with a relational database (MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle) required.
-Demonstrated experience with query and data visualization tools like OBIEE, Qlik or Tableau preferred.

Additional preferred experience:
- Experience with various application development models (e.g., Agile) and best practices as well as with version control (e.g., git).
-Use of a structured project management method.
-Experience with ticketing and workflow management systems like JIRA and ServiceNow
-Experience with quality/process improvement methodologies



Position Summary:

The School of Medicine and Public Health Information Technology (SMPH IT) group provides a unique opportunity for an innovative IT professional. This group provides IT leadership to the SMPH community, delivered through strategic projects and services built on new and established system resources. Utilizing these resources, the group makes significant contributions to the advancement of administrative, educational, instructional, research and engagement initiatives. The group works directly with SMPH leadership and contributes directly to the mission of the SMPH.

This position seeks an experienced, enthusiastic manager with the ability to take initiative and produce result, deliver applications development and analytics solutions to the SMPH leadership and community that are aligned with SMPH goals and objectives. This position will be expected to interface collaboratively and solve problems strategically with a variety of IT leaders within SMPH as well as UW Health and the UW campus.
