Summary of Job Duties

The GSIE Software Developer will lead continuous improvement efforts of business processes through, small, fast track development projects. Most of the work will focus on integrating and connecting different systems, developing both end-user and back-end database solutions, automating manual business processes, and creating electronic forms and workflows.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in programming and/or system analysis,

OR

  • Completion of technical training in software, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting
  • At least four years of experience in software support including one year in a leadership capacity.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise or experience with the following development tools: C#, Visual Basic and SharePoint Designer and workflows
  • Experience developing web-based electronic forms linked to back-end databases or systems
  • Experience developing workflow solutions
  • Experience with and able to provide examples of designing and developing business process improvements


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of and skilled with basic programming and scripting skills such as C# or Visual Basic, REST/API, JSON, OAuth2, and ideally some experience with XML, SOAP, SSL/TLS/SSH, and some database experience
  • Skilled at effectively communicating with people in a professional, timely, and support to all users
  • Skilled with Windows and all MS Office applications
  • Skilled with being able to quickly assess, learn and develop new technologies
  • Skilled at organizing tasks and balance competing objectives
