Responsibilities

The Department of English at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in Ethnic U.S.-American Literature, specializing in Asian-American or Native American, beginning August 2018. The position is a 2/2 teaching assignment (two courses per semester) with one graduate course per year. The successful candidate would be expected to teach a graduate course in Ethnic U.S.-American Literature.

Qualifications

Research and teaching specialization in either (1) Native American literatures or (2) Asian-American literatures. We welcome applications from candidates working in a variety of approaches and areas and comfortable with comparative or interdisciplinary areas of U.S.-American literatures, including intersectional approaches to other ethnic literatures. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in hand by beginning of appointment. Applicants should have a record of publication, prospects of future publication, and evidence of effective teaching.
