Life Science Research Professional 1

Job Code: 4951

Grade: E

One year Fixed Term

100% FTE

The Prakash lab in the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University is seeking a Lab Science Research Specialist (Lab Tech) to join our team exploring a wide variety of biological questions.

We are a curiosity driven lab that explores questions ranging from fundamental biology to building scientific tools to tackle problems in global health and science education. We take on an eclectic mix of problems and approach a range of (un)related biological intricacies through theory and experiment drawing upon cellular and molecular biology, microscopy, biophysics, and engineering. We focus on new problems and systems, and are often challenged by the limitations of current techniques - this inspires us to propel our science forward by inventing new methods and instruments.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated researcher to provide support in ongoing projects, including, yet not limited to, maintaining mosquito colonies, perpetuating cultures of non-model organisms, and developing standardized protocols for novel diagnostics tools and microscopy. We anticipate that the successful candidate has a strong background in experimental molecular and cellular biology, and is excited to contribute her/his wet lab expertise to a number of interdisciplinary projects.
